Oppo Find N6 vs Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra: Compared
Verdict: the Oppo Find N6 wins on battery, charging, telephoto and water resistance; the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra wins on availability, seven OS updates and case choice, and in the US, UK or Europe, where Oppo doesn't sell the N6, it's the practical buy.
This Oppo Find N6 vs Samsung Fold 8 comparison uses the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, the tall book-style successor to the Z Fold 7 with an 8-inch inner screen, because it's the Find N6's like-for-like rival. Samsung launched two Z Fold 8 models on 22 July 2026. The standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 is a shorter, wider 4:3 phone, and it gets its own section below. (The two Samsungs side by side: Z Fold 8 vs Z Fold 8 Ultra: which to buy.)
What this is: a case designer's changelog between the two, written by the people who actually design the cases, not a spec-sheet aggregator. Every other Z Fold 8 vs Find N6 comparison stops at "the Find N6 wins on paper." In several rows, it does. But that skips the question a buyer actually has at checkout: how different is life with each phone once you need to protect it, and would any of your gear carry over? That's the gap we fill. Updated 29 September 2026.
If you land on the Samsung, our guide to the best Galaxy Z Fold 8 cases covers both models, and our Z Fold 8 Ultra case picks focus on the tall one.
Full disclosure: we design and sell cases for the Galaxy Z Fold line, and not for the Oppo Find N6. So read the verdict with that in mind. But the numbers below come from Samsung's and Oppo's published specifications, and the case-fit reality is the one thing every other comparison skips: it treats accessories as an afterthought, when on a folding phone at this price they're what stands between the hinge and an expensive repair.
Oppo Find N6 vs Samsung Fold 8 Ultra: the spec diff
The Find N6 has the bigger battery, faster charging, a sharper telephoto and better water and dust sealing; the Z Fold 8 Ultra is lighter and slightly smaller folded. Below, each row is marked from a Z Fold 8 Ultra owner's starting point. Samsung figures are its confirmed launch specifications; Find N6 figures are from Oppo's official spec page.

| Inner display | 8.0" | 8.12" | CHANGED (larger) | Different open footprint; no shared cut |

| Specialist case selection | Deep, every category | Oppo's own accessories plus a much smaller third-party pool | CHANGED | This is the whole point |
Read honestly, the Find N6 is the more advanced piece of hardware in several rows: a bigger 6,000mAh battery, 80W wired charging (Oppo quotes 47 minutes from 1–100%; Samsung quotes 67% in 30 minutes for the Z Fold 8 Ultra), 50W wireless, a 50MP periscope telephoto where Samsung ships 10MP, and IP58/IP59 water resistance with better dust protection than IP48. We're not going to pretend otherwise. The Samsung answers with a lighter body and seven OS updates, and with everything in the bottom two rows.
What about the wide Galaxy Z Fold 8?
If by "Samsung Fold 8" you mean the plain Galaxy Z Fold 8 (the wide model, rumoured before launch as the "Z Fold 8 Wide"), it's a very different rival: a shorter, wider passport-shaped phone with a 4:3 inner screen.
| Spec | Galaxy Z Fold 8 (wide) | Oppo Find N6 |
|---|---|---|
| Folded size | 123.9 × 81.9 × 9.7 mm | 159.87 × 74.12 × 8.93 mm |
| Weight | 201 g | 225 g |
| Inner / cover display | 7.6" 4:3 / 5.5" | 8.12" / 6.62" |
| Battery | 4,800mAh | 6,000mAh |
| Charging | 45W wired · 20W wireless | 80W wired · 50W wireless |
| Rear cameras | 50MP wide + 50MP ultrawide (no telephoto) | 200MP main + 50MP 3× periscope |
| Water & dust | IP48 | IP56 / IP58 / IP59 |
The wide Fold 8 is 24 g lighter and its 4:3 panel suits reading and documents, but the Find N6 out-specs it on battery, charging and cameras. The wide Samsung has no telephoto at all. For cases it's a shape of its own: no older Z Fold case fits it, and nothing made for the Find N6 will either. Ours are in the Galaxy Z Fold 8 collection.
Will your current FoldifyCase Z Fold case fit the Find N6?
No, and this is the part the spec sheets never tell you. A foldable case is moulded to one device's exact hinge geometry, spine width, fold radius and camera island. On paper the Find N6 is within a couple of millimetres of the Z Fold 8 Ultra (159.87 × 74.12 mm folded against 158.4 × 72.8 mm), but it uses a different titanium hinge, a different spine and a different camera island, so a Z Fold case physically cannot register on it. The rails won't seat, the hinge cover will fight the fold, and the camera cut-out will sit over the wrong glass.
That's not an Oppo problem specifically. It's the rule for every cross-brand foldable. We wrote the same verdict about the Z Fold 8 Ultra vs Motorola Razr Fold: foldable cases do not carry over between manufacturers, full stop. Within the Samsung family it's different. The Z Fold 8 Ultra kept the Z Fold 7's exact folded footprint (our Z Fold 7 case fit check for the Ultra has the detail), which is why cases like our Vanguard H1 heavy-duty rugged case and Spineguard P1 MagSafe hinge case are sold for the Z Fold 8 Ultra and the Z Fold 7 alike. Jump brands and that carry-over disappears. You'll find the full range in our Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra case collection.
So if you buy a Find N6, your options are Oppo's own accessories and a smaller pool of third-party cases than Samsung's Z Fold line attracts, and outside Asia-Pacific that pool is smaller still. It cuts the other way too: a Find N6 case won't fit your Z Fold 8 Ultra either, because the geometry mismatch runs in both directions. If you're cross-shopping these two, assume zero accessory overlap and budget for protection separately on whichever you land on.
Samsung Z Fold 8 vs Oppo Find N6: which should you buy?
Buy the Find N6 if you're in Australia and want the best battery, charging and telephoto; buy the Z Fold 8 Ultra if you want seven OS updates, your Z Fold 7 accessories and the widest case choice, or if you live where Oppo doesn't sell the N6.
In Australia this is a genuine choice: Oppo sells the Find N6 locally through its own online store, JB Hi-Fi and Vodafone, so you get local warranty and support either way. Pick the Find N6 if battery, charging speed, telephoto reach and water resistance matter most, or if you want a stylus, since the Z Fold 8 Ultra doesn't support the S Pen while the Find N6 works with the OPPO AI Pen. Pick the Z Fold 8 Ultra if you value Samsung's seven OS updates, reusing your Z Fold 7 accessories, and the deepest foldable case ecosystem there is.
In the US, UK or Europe, the maths changes. Oppo hasn't launched the Find N6 in those markets, so buying one means importing it, without local warranty or carrier support, and with a thin local accessory market. For most buyers there, the Z Fold 8 Ultra is the practical choice. We'd still rather sell you a Z Fold case, but we'd rather be honest than pretend the Find N6 doesn't out-spec it.
Z Fold 8 vs Find N6 FAQ
Is the Oppo Find N6 better than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8?
On paper, yes, in several rows. Against the Z Fold 8 Ultra it has a 6,000mAh vs 5,000mAh battery, 80W vs 45W wired and 50W vs 20W wireless charging, IP56/IP58/IP59 vs IP48 and a 50MP vs 10MP 3× telephoto. The Samsung is lighter (215 g vs 225 g), gets seven OS updates and is sold in far more markets with a much deeper case range.
How does the Find N6 compare to the wide Galaxy Z Fold 8?
The Find N6 is better equipped: 6,000mAh vs 4,800mAh, 80W vs 45W wired charging and a 50MP 3× periscope where the wide Z Fold 8 has no telephoto. The wide Fold 8 is lighter at 201 g vs 225 g, shorter at 123.9 mm folded, and its 7.6-inch 4:3 inner screen suits reading and documents.
Can I buy the Oppo Find N6 in Australia?
Yes. Oppo sells the Find N6 in Australia through its own online store, JB Hi-Fi and Vodafone, so it comes with local warranty and support. It isn't officially sold in the US, UK or Europe, so buyers there would be importing it without local warranty or carrier support.
Will a Galaxy Z Fold case fit the Find N6?
No. The Find N6 folds to 159.87 × 74.12 × 8.93 mm against the Z Fold 8 Ultra's 158.4 × 72.8 × 8.9 mm, and its titanium hinge, spine and camera island are all different from any Galaxy Z Fold. Foldable cases are moulded per device and never carry across brands.
Does the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra support a stylus like the Find N6?
No. Neither the Z Fold 8 Ultra nor the standard Z Fold 8 supports the S Pen; the S Pen Fold Edition and S Pen Pro only work with the Z Fold 3, 4, 5 and 6. The Find N6 works with the OPPO AI Pen, which is sold separately.
Our verdict
The short version of Oppo Find N6 vs Samsung Fold 8: the Find N6 wins the spec sheet in several rows, with a bigger battery, faster wired and wireless charging, better water and dust sealing, a sharper telephoto and stylus support. The Z Fold 8 Ultra answers with a lighter body, seven OS updates, far wider availability, and the deepest foldable case ecosystem there is, including the Z Fold 7 cases that already fit it. In Australia, where both are sold locally, it comes down to which of those strengths you value. Everywhere the Find N6 isn't sold, the Z Fold 8 Ultra settles it, and it's why we build for the Z Fold, not the Find N.
